Long time hungover

So the last update was almost a month ago. Pheew it was a while ago. Well here is what went on during that time and now.
The S13 still is sitting in the garage.
I just spent 1600 on the accord to repair a transmission issue which is bull shit.
I went to Minnesota for a weekend which was an awesome time.
Partied really hard on my birthday and met a lot a great people.
There's obviously more detail then just a simple description so more info and updates to come....Hopefully.

My Birthday!!!!

Today I am 21. Last night I went to the bar at 12 and got some drinks with my two best friends. It was great except for this obnoxious bartender that would shut up about her god damn swoll ass boyfriend. But other then that I had a great time.
Tonight is going to be even better!

Righteous Road

Tomorrow is going to be my 21st birthday. 21st birthdays are like a righteous path to full adult hood. I strongly believe that you have to experience what life has to offer before you begin to settle down into the inevitable role of responsible adult. I am beginning to embark on a new chapter in my life now that I'm not tied down. I know I will meet plenty of new friends and foes in the future, i just can't wait to see what the future has in store for me.

Ahh the single life

Break ups are pretty hard, this my first time ever getting hurt so bad. Things are always going to get better though, maybe I'll find the girl I've always wanted to find. Cross my fingers and close my eyes. It'll happen one day.

Repression+Depression= one good lesson

The weekend had some unexpected turns and horrible endings.
The Bad. My feelings are hurt and I'm left with a burnt heart. I have never felt so depressed in my life for a girl. I guess things happen and people change. They get caught in the feeling of having a good time and then have a disregard for the one that loves them most. God I feel hurt and sad....It's time to move on.
The good. Thankfully I have friends that I can fall back on. Someone to talk to about it. Friends that understand. I realize something I should already know, there is way more in life then just to revolve around one person.
I also went to see D1 Grand Prix in Chicago...which was AWESOME. I still have to post those pictures.
Don't worry. I'll get back on my feet soon enough.

Chilled out Chi-Town

Forgot to mention that Saturday was great also. I went up to a little cruise meet/get together for CA240SX forum. Went down 290 all the way down to lower Wacker. First time I have ever traveled so fast down there. Then met up at a spot. And I forgot my camera! Well there are still my memories! Always really cool kids out there though. Cool cars also, they weren't all glamorous or anything but cool none the less. Kevin from ILL garage had his MRS out with updated exhaust. That car sounds great and really looks great. Best in Illinois IMO. Rob hand his S14 Zenki that was fresh with the white rollers on emerald paint. Shared my food with the guy, got water in return. Haha great deal. Met people behind the usernames. Eckominds, SIMON, JAYYS, Roski(ROW-SKEE), Carlos from Touge Factory. I know there were more people but I don't remember the names. Anyways, If you have an S-chassis go join Chicagoarea240sx.editboard.com. When it comes to meets, I'll be packin the food!

Kick Stands and Blistered Hands

Biking is so much fun. Yesterday was a wonderful day for bike riding. I had my son and girlfriend with me along with a few of her little cousins. Ten miles was a great journey around the bike trail. We got to see plenty of great stuff. Huge houses, streaming rivers, large ponds, and good ol' dairy queen ice cream. By the end of the journey everyone had sore butts and rough blistered hands. I need a more cushioned seat next time I go.

Why am I so Emotional today?

Forever Yours*

Coming to a conclusion, the end of the light.
I see you... Oh I see you. Your smiling at me like an innocent child directly in my line of sight.
It's like the darkest of all nights. The sharpest contrast to day.
You're still there not budging for a thing. Still smiling.
I feel like I love you, but I don't know who you are. I just feel a familiar feeling.
Like the feeling of a fresh wound before it becomes a deep scar...but opposite.
No pain. No ouch. Just yes. Just.Like.That.
Wait now, you're getting closer. Stuck in the same, just like a still photo of a smiling face.Position.
Coming at me like a slow mo reunion. We lock eyes like enemies going toe to toe.
No. We are closer then enemies. Closer then two friends.
I see who you are now. You.The Future. The beginning of the end.

Project- Grass Roots

Well some of you know that I have a 89 S13 that I'm working on. It's been a 4 month project so far and progress has seriously slowed down. I have everything in and ready to go...but it won't run.sigh. It tries to but it fires up all speratic and dies.
Anyways before I get into more detail and pics. I'd like to share what my inspiration was to start the 240 project.

This was about three years ago. I have always liked the S-chassis but was never

serious about getting one. I loved to watch drifting but never have done it myself.

One day I was driving around and I spot this 89 240sx in the parking lot of
Murrays. It was the most legit thing I have ever seen in my town. It was not done like an over exaggerated drift car wannabe. It was low. It was red. It had an Origin 3 piece deck spoiler. It had a Origin roof wing, Sexy style rear valance, Origin stylish sides, and an exhaust. I couldn't help but wonder who in Joliet has this kind of style because I didn't know him. Most cars in my town are all jacked up. I'm pretty sure you know the typical ricer stereo type. I was intrigued. Every other day I would always see it parked at the same spot. And everyday I would wonder even more about who the person is behind the car.
About 5 months pass, by I was working at autozone at the time, and my work tells me we are getting new people in.
So we hired a new guy.So I thought huh, just another new guy, another fag gear head huh.I go to work and I see the car. THE Car. The one I was thinking about so much. Now I was thinking, "wow...we finally have another guy that knows his shit about cars. Hmm I guess he can't be a faggot. Can't wait to meet this guy." I go in and I see this pale, tall skinny dude with thin frames on his long, squared jaw, skinny face. "This can't be the guy that owns that S13?". Wow I wasn't expecting some skinny white looking dude with glasses. Later I found out he was the owner and he wasn't white. He was a Mexican that spoke perfect English and Spanish. I was surprised by that too.

His name was Edgar and he was a really dope guy. Funny also, very funny. He was into drifting and cars in general just like I was. He would tell me stories about trends in Japan and name all sorts of wheels that were made from Japan. He knew a lot about the Chicago drifting scene. It was inspiring to hear all that, all that I didn't know that was happening so close to me. I felt pretty honored to know a guy that knows as much as him about S-Chassis'.

More time goes by and Edgar ends up leaving Autozone. He had so many car related issues through out his stint there I wasn't surprised he left. Once he left, I couldn't stop thinking about the S-Chassis'.

Here are the pictures of that car.

Now on to my project. This car is going to be simple. No SR swap or mad power, just enough power. Just a single slammer. The single slammer philosophy. I am not a highly skilled driver that can control an SR. NO. I want to polish my skills and start from the single slammer and up. The base.

Daily Grind and Family Fun

This last week was pretty gravy. I love my gig and I hope to stay here until I retire. For those that don't know,I work in the IT department at a bank. Great people to work with and great environment to be in. It's really great to travel around Chicago land and get paid for it plus mileage X 55 cents. Compared to all my other jobs, this one is by far the greatest.
Anyways beside work. I spent this weekend hanging around my family. This is something I rarely if ever do. It made me realize how out of touch I am from my family. I felt like such an arrogant asshole seeing how much I've missed out.Well that is about to change.Because an my family is crazy fun! Tons of food, outrageous amounts of gambling, and plenty of drinks to go around. I have never seen so much money being thrown down and at stake before until that day. Even though its a westerners game, the Khmer folks got down in Texas hold'em. Hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in the pot. God it was awesome. I played but lost all my cash, I know I'm a beginner give me a break. I've also missed out on hanging out with the Khmer kids my age. Jeez what was I doing all these years? What was so bad about being around my family that I stayed away? Man I don't know.

Goals, Dreams, and Aspirations

Some times you just wish you had something so bad that it becomes a goal. It started out as a dream then it turns into aspiration to make that dream reality. My dream is to own a NSX one day. I know this dream is possible and I am getting closer to this dream. It will be a 5 year chase to catch this dream. I know this isn't a wild dream but it's a dream none the less. Oh NSX how I want you sooo...

Purposes

I was listening to the radio to and on of the topics was that having a a purpose in life increases your chances of living longer.
Have you ever thought about it? What is your purpose in life? I think that having a purpose is definitely required to live a great life. You just can't live through life just riding it's waves. You have take one path towards something that you want. Yes you can go through life and just take what it gives you but you're going to just be an empty shell of a person if you do. You have to find your purpose and keep at it. It can be your kids, your career, anything. And it can be for any amount of time, as long as there is a constant purpose.
It's important to realize that you are not a bad person for doing what you want to do. Life is more enjoyable when you feel like you have the freedom to make your own choices. No one wants to feel pressured all the time about all the decisions they make. It's a hazardous thing that will make you feel like you have no identity.
Don't ever let anyone keep you from being who you are.
Purpose, Whats yours?

Great Weekend

This past weekend was great. My brother and best friend came up here from Louisiana to visit. It was so great hanging out with them again. We drank, played video games, and talked. Nothing special but it just felt really good to do. Good times never have to be exciting, or special. They just have to be good.

Yesterday we went to race go carts, really fast go carts. Man I had so much fun out there. Is called Melrose Park Gran Prix
and I recommend anyone in the Chicago area to go there. You will have a good time there.

It's been about 5 months since I last seen my brother. He's in the ARMY and is stationed in Louisiana for training. He came for a brief period in December and January then left. Now he's back! I am so happy that he's back. My younger brother is growing up and it's getting even more evident as time goes by. I wish I would have known he was coming or else I would have taken a day off of work. What a surprise this morning!

Music for those in the like

I find it that now these days Hip-Hop music is evolving so much, I mean it's always been evolving but it's more obvious now. Music in general is evolving I should say. I think if you really love and enjoy music, you should have a listen to every type there is. I think you shouldn't just like a certain genre and be critical of all others, you should respect and just be aware of them.
One thing I would like to add too. If you are someone who does not know much about a certain genre of music, your opinions about artists in those genres should be kept to yourself. Because those opinions have no substance or integrity behind them.

Hip-Hop is my favorite genre of music but I like it all. So these are the artists that I think are great.
3L- Chicago's own up and coming producer.

3L - Remnants of What Used to Be from Mr.3LLL Prescott on Vimeo.

Adam Tensta- One of Sweden's best Hip-Hip artist. I love this style.

Adam Tensta "Dopeboy" feat. E-boi from Niklas Johansson on Vimeo.

Adam Tensta "Before you know it" from Niklas Johansson on Vimeo.

Lykke Li- I love her voice.

Lykke Li - Tonight from Lykke Li on Vimeo.

Lupe Fiasco- Of course one of Chi-towns finest

I wish I could put more but there is just so many. These were just my select favorites. There will be more to come.

Can't believe

Good Morning.
Have you ever heard or seen something that makes you realize how far you've come and how fast things came at you in life? You know you just sit there amazed that, just that long ago you were doing that or just yesterday you were 18 but are older now.
I know this isn't a new thing and that this occurs more often then not. But when you reminisce about your past you can't help but wonder how things could be different if you took a different path. It goes to show that the path that you are taking now is for a reason. It's destiny, even though things could have gone differently it didn't.

Five years ago I was still in high school working a minimum waged job. Five years now I have a career and a family. It just hits me that my life is accelerating really quickly. Sometimes I just wonder what would it would be like if I did a few things differently. Don't get me wrong, I love my life right now and my Family. It's just a curiosity.
